Christian Trump Supporters:
Find his commitment to the policies he campaigned on, a refreshing reprieve from lip service normally supplied by politicians writ large.
Like others, our champion has some flaws: Which of the candidates didn’t? Which of us don’t?
Some supporters are uncomfortable with the demeaning tweets emanating from the Oval Office and disparaging, often uncharitable comments directed at his bank of critics;
But, having said that, who else could survive the unreasoning critisim the President routinely faces.
Unrelenting Accusations target the Trump team in a withering stream of unbelievable vitriol.
“Trump Derangement Syndrom” is real!
The onslaught from those seeking to destroy the President is something to witness. He has been an ongoing target from the moment he entered the political fray.
Not only is he fair game, anyone associated with him, or his supporters, is fair game.
They must be targeted and ferreted out; driven out of restaurants, pilloried on campuses and social media.
Labeled bigots; and associated with every negative “__ist” in the English lexicon.
Those qualifying as Trump critics:
Cloak themselves with a self righteousness demeanor, smug superiority, and a title. Bolster their criticism with “evidence” from other accusers. Verify their own accusations with another published version; utilizing the same unverified source:
Congratulations, you’re a member of the “Main Stream” news media.
In Matthew’s gospel, Jesus instructs his followers to be “harmless as doves, but wise as serpents.” My understanding of this principle suggests Christians have an obligation to stay informed on issues and be discerning:
In other words; “Wise as serpents…”
Not clueless in a D.C. bubble. Information, is the power to make “informed” choices.
We are not required to charitably ignore the lack of evidence contained in most accusations lodged against the President.
We are not required to ignore the gross bias of media and partisan political interests.
We are not required to be moved by the sheer numbers and vileness of the accusations.
Voter Discretion:
Requires we consider the source!
When the sources are known liars, whose mission it is to drive President Trump from office, and render his presidency ineffective; they need to be exposed.
The Mueller Report, and more recently Horowitz Inspector General (IG)Report, have done just that. The Russia collusion accusations were a hoax.
These false accusations were pushed by Democrats and a compliant media; Their lies led directly to the appointment of Special Council Mueller, and divided our nation on partisan lines.
Trump’s protagonists have audacity. They label the President a liar for having the temerity to refute their dishonest accusations.
“Pathological Liar” is a title befitting many of those who foment accusations of wrong doing, while knowing they are without merit.
The steady barrage of Russia collusion allegations, were part of a strategy leading to impeachment of the president. The “resist” movement continued to push these false narratives, long after they were known to be lies.
President Trump’s original offense, was winning the election.
His continuing offense, is to confront his accusers. Prioritizing the things he campaigned for, and not just lip service. This is offensive to the “deep state.”
These unelected bureaucrats, and support mechanisms, feel it is their right to manage the government.
Deep State:
If there were a question as to the existence of the “Deep State:” “Trump Derangement Syndrome” dispels it.
It is real!
Every new “leak” intended to harm the President, is further proof.
The compliance of the media in the effort to unseat Trump, is part of the deep state; it threatens our freedom and democracy.
Christians should stand against deception and for truth.
We live in a fallen world, but “wisdom” is using God’s truth to discern complicated issues with pragmatism, humility and knowledge.
There is no perfect candidate, or perfect voter.
Understanding this reality should provide some humility when considering complex issues.
Painting carelessly with a broad brush ignores the lines of separation and is irresponsible.
Mark Galli, editor in chief of Christianity Today, makes claims in his editorial “Trump Should Be Removed From Office.”
Not only is he painting with a “broad brush” the arguments he uses are simply not true. The title of his editorial demonstrates either a lack of judgement or a lazy pursuit of the facts.
His stance shows a willingness to accept, at face value, the accusations of Adam Schiff; one of the President’s primary protagonists, acusers and proven liar.
California Congressman Schiff led the Russia collusion charge. Him, and a host of others of his ilk, fousted these demonstrably false accusations long after they were proven to be a lie.
Schiff’s Impeachment:
To give credence to Schift’s baseless and purely partisan impeachment, demonstrates a lack of discernment and fidelity to facts.
If there is one thing Christians should be, it is circumspect in insisting that accusations are credible.
If there is one thing that American Jurisprudence insists on, it is the right of the accused to face their accuser and have the truthfulness of the accuser tested by the presentation of all the facts.
His suggestion that the accusations in the impeachment inquiry are “…unambiguous:”
“The president of the United States attempted to use his political power to coerce a foreign leader to harass and discredit one of the president’s political opponents.”
This statement itself, is a false. He parrots the untested and unproven accusations of the Presidents critics as though they are fact.
His statement “We believe the impeachment hearings have made it absolutely clear…” I’d find to be amusing, if not insulting.
To suggest that the accusations and impeachment process; employed by Adam Schiff, and democrats: Represents American ideals of justice, is offensive.
The only thing “absolutely clear,” as Mr. Galli claims, concerning the impeachment hearings: The Democrats “resist”campaign to unseat the president continues unabated.
Truth be damned.
Ukrainian obstruction, Ukrainian bribery, accusation Etcetera: Ad nauseam!
It’s time for Christians to “wise up.” Christ instructed his followers to be:
“Wise as Serpents and harmless as doves.”
Mattew 10.16
One reply on ““Christianity Today” Harmless?”
I totally agree! It’s amazing how literally everything they acuse Trump of doing is what they have or are currently doing!
