“Moreover the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah the second time, while he was yet shut up in the court of the prison…”
Jerimiah 33.1
Being God’s messenger can be lonely. There’s a reason Jeremiah was called the “weeping prophet.”
Without exception, when our message steps us away from the crowd, our faith will be tested. Drifting through life is is a nonthreatening activity. It’s a one-piece security blanket with pacifier attached. It involves minimal requirements and by design does not attract attention. It has it’s rewards, but intimacy with God is not one of them.
Exiting the crowd stops the drifting on the broad way, but …
When we’re not in the crowd, we become targets. It’s when the “…whole armour of God…” becomes real and personal; not an abstract concept.
“Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”
Ephesians 6.13
We can trust God to guide our steps, but don’t trust others to understand. Reproof can easily be twisted to misunderstanding. Even more so if one is participating or compliciant with the subject of the reproof.
Anger, or division, is the defensive response. Unfortunately, it’s effective and pummels others to silence.
“Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
