Walking with Confidence

Learning to trust God’s leading is not once upon a time…

“The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he

delighteth in his way.”

Psalms 37.23

God delights in our learning to walk. Just as an earthly father holds their arms out to catch the faltering steps of a toddler, so God catches us when we fall. We can learn, and walk, with confidence. God is guiding our steps.

“Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the

LORD upholdeth him with his hand.”

Psalms 37.24

This is a Biblical principle that I easily lose sight of when I began to stew over a future with so many uncertainties. Unlike toddlerhood, learning to trust in God’s guiding hand is not one and done. It’s a lifetime commitment. God wants us to become more confident in trusting HE is guiding our footsteps as we walk in faith.

“I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the

righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. “

Psalms 37.25

By Merle Mullet

A farmer knows, the seeds we sow are the seeds we harvest. Except by God's grace, life works that way most of the time. I am deeply indebted to my creator, the one and only true God who gives life to all things by his grace, through his son Jesus Christ. I am grateful for the lessons I've learned from my farming heritage and the privilege of partnering in the cycle of life each new growing season.

You make a good point about this being a lifelong process. During the last 4-5 years, Proverbs 3:5-6 has become a passage I read almost daily. It feels like sometimes we are walking through life blindfolded while we listen to God’s voice tells us which direction to turn. The more we trust, the more we realize that God is faithful to guide our steps.
