Unchanging Faith

The ingredients of salvation are God’s gifts to us

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of

yourselves: it is the gift of God:”

Ephesians 2.8

The Apostle Paul, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, packed this verse full of theology. Salvation is a gift from God. It comes to us by God’s grace and effective in our lives “..through faith.”

Faith, that invisible, nonsensical, essence of hope. Faith that enabler of belief that God desires to save me through trusting Him. Not because I can see, touch, or feel in a tangible way: Rather, an offering of the will. A volitional acceptance and acknowledgement of God’s love for me; not for any merit on my part, but because “God is Love…” Ist John 4.16

Furthermore God is mine and I am His, because God is “…not willing that any should perish…” (2nd Peter 3.9) My salvation is made possible, not by the force of my will, but God’s. I need only to receive what has been paid for in full by the sacrifice God’s son made on my behalf.

This I know because His word is true, and God does not change. Thank you Lord.

A farmer knows, the seeds we sow are the seeds we harvest. Except by God's grace, life works that way most of the time. I am deeply indebted to my creator, the one and only true God who gives life to all things by his grace, through his son Jesus Christ. I am grateful for the lessons I've learned from my farming heritage and the privilege of partnering in the cycle of life each new growing season.
