We live in unsettled times. Abandoning the truth of God’s word in favor of standards which rely upon the whims of culture, personal experience or feelings may be a popular sentiment but produces confusion. Every public person has a platform to dispense “their truth,” but in reality, there is no such thing. The idea is an oxymoron.
Just as with the laws of nature, principles of truth do not rely upon public affirmation to establish their veracity. The laws governing the force of gravity do not rely upon our acceptance to be effective. We ignore them at our peril.
In the same way, ignorance of absolute truth, or denying it’s existence, does not diminish it’s impact. Reality is a Creator God who judges sin. Also a reality: God loves us and desires to draw us into a right relationship with him.
“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in
heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And
that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the
glory of God the Father.”
Philippians 2. 10, 11
Living in the light of God’s word brings joy and peace. If we’re not experiencing life that way, it’s time to reexamine the influences that are guiding us.
