“Angel Messengers”
Insignificance…
is a state of the mind,
in truth…
we can’t conceive what God has planned”
Upon her Bat mitzvah, Mary’s betrothal to Joseph had been sealed.
The formal arrangements between their families were complete and a modest dowry paid.
Mary awaited Joseph’s preparations and dreamed of his coming;
He would lead the joyous procession to their new home; with feasting, dancing, and celebration.
But, that was before the angel Gabriel appeared and delivered startling news…..
Mary had been chosen by Jehovah God, to bear His child.
She was to be pregnant:
Not by normal earthly means, but God himself was to be the father.
At the moment of conception, the much anticipated “star;”
Which generations of Magi had longed for: appeared low in the Western skies; far to the East of the land of Israel.
In the heart of the former Babylonian empire, three Magi on a boulder strewn hill, witnessed its birth.
The birth of the “Star of Jacob.”
The sign was proof God, the Creator of the heavens;
Had accomplished what the prophets foretold.
A king, of David’s lineage was to be born. He would be the Messiah; a light to those bound in darkness.
After glowing brightly for a time, pointing the way to the land of Israel;
It vanished as quickly as it had come.
The baby in Mary’s womb grew: And so grew the desire in the hearts of the Magi, to pay homage to the new king in the land of the Jews.
These dreamers, searching the heavens for a sign, would be among the first to see God’s divine plan to save the human race unfold.
This was not by accident.
Estranged by distance, and custom; from the promises of God to His people the Jews;
The Magi would journey ‘by faith’ to see their fulfillment.
They could not know God’s purpose, but they were certain….
Their “star of Jacob,” was a messenger from God: speaking to them in the language they knew well; the language of the stars.
Setting into motion a heavenly chain of events leading to Bethlehem; a tiny Israelite village in the hill country of Judea.
